Munchy’s And Super Add Charity Aspect To Super Band With Donation Of Rm50,000

Kuala Lumpur, 1 August 2009 – Munchy’s and Super’s recent gift to the entertainment world culminated in the sponsorship of legendary mandopop group Super Band, right here on Malaysian shores. But that wasn’t all. It gave fans and loyal Munchy’s and Super consumers the chance to give back to those less fortunate through a donation of RM50,000 to five homes in the Klang Valley. And these selected causes were Humana Child Aid Society Sabah, Rumah Ozanam, Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, Pertubuhan Perkhidmatan Intervensi Awal (Batu Pahat), and Rumah Hope .

“We are extremely happy to be part of this amazing concert. My brothers and I grew up listening to the music of these four legends. And since we’ve also always been firm believers in giving back to society, we wanted to create this opportunity for everyone to donate a little something that will hopefully go a long way in helping these causes,” said CK Tan, CEO of the Munchy Group, during the cheque presentation ceremony.

Super Coffeemix was also a proud contributor, having donated half of the RM50,000. Said Steven Lim, Director of Super Coffeemix, “Seeing Super Band perform right before my very eyes was like a dream come true – and knowing that we are doing our bit for the less fortunate at the same time made this experience all the more sweet for me.”

Munchy’s pledged RM0.20 to charity for the sale of each Munchy’s Lexus Limited Edition pack while every purchase of Super Charcoal Roasted Ipoh White Coffee limited promotion packets saw a contribution of RM0.30. At the same time, fans were given the chance to win 320 free concert tickets worth RM128 each.

“I know that Super Band’s fans had the most fun possible tonight as the legends’ performance was truly mind blowing,” added CK. “And since fun is our middle name here at Munchy’s, tonight was yet another fantastic show of just how we live up to our brand promise of cheeky fun in everything we do – even while we work towards the betterment of society,” added CK.
