Munchy’s Takes A Bite Out Of The New Year As No.1

Kuala Lumpur, 14 January 2009 – Munchy’s rang in the New Year with media members and friends today as they celebrated the season’s festivities together.

“We’re always trying to inject fun into everything we do at Munchy’s, and what better way to do this than to kick off 2009 with a party?” said CK Tan, CEO of the Munchy’s Group. “And we have so much to celebrate – the many festivities, and most importantly, we want to celebrate our rating as the country’s No.1 homegrown biscuit brand*.”

Renowned as the country’s most innovative biscuit manufacturer, Munchy’s state-of-the-art facilities in its 240,000 square-foot plant are unparalleled throughout Malaysia.

“We might have started out with just one wafer-stick machine in 1991, but today, Munchy’s stands before you as a RM300 million company, ” added CK. “And now, we want to share the fruits of our success with everyone who has shown us support – in good times and in bad.”

Munchy’s red-themed bash also gave guests the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming ‘red’ festivals – Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. Professional party-planning secrets were shared including impressive yet easy-to-do festive and romantic table settings. Guests were also privy to the art of perfect hamper-wrapping – for that ideal festive gift.

As the highlight of the party, the restaurant’s resident chef – Chef Oo Tha – created delicious and original hors d’oeuvres with Munchy’s Lite Cream Cracker.

“This one-of-a-kind creation is testimony to the versatility of Munchy’s products,” said CK. “Our biscuits are perfect for any occasion – especially when you want to have a little fun.”

The party was held at Passion Road restaurant and was hosted by top-rated TV presenter and foodie, Jonathan Putra. Just Heavenly, a renowned party planner also shared their secrets of exciting, yet effortless party-planning tips with the media.
