Baking smiles across the nation with Munchy’, Malaysia’s No 1 homegrown biscuit brand, one orphanage at a time
Ipoh, 2nd July 2016 – Apart from giving away more than 2.5 million biscuits to all Malaysians, MUNCHY’S, the No 1 homegrown biscuit brand, is thanking Malaysia for the support received throughout the past 25 years by paying it forward through the Sharing the Fun CSR campaign. Impacting over 700 orphans across the nation, MUNCHY’S donated yummilicious biscuits to 15 orphanages, out of which, three were chosen to experience the fun with MUNCHY’S Funbot, Michael Oven.
MUNCHY’S has recently visited Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taiping to bring out the essence of the brand with all things exciting lined-up for the day. It was a morning filled with fun, laughter and love as MUNCHY’S dedicated employees visited the orphans, with truckloads of MUNCHY’S biscuits, namely LEXUS, OAT KRUNCH, MUZIC and CAPTAIN MUNCH.
Present at the event was MUNCHY’S General Manager of Human Resources, Danny Yong who presented a cheque of RM10,000 to the Secretary of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taiping, K. Goverd Hanlal. He shared, “Five years ago, we sponsored biscuits to 15 orphanages in Malaysia. This year, MUNCHY’S continues that connection by not only sponsoring our biscuits but also making monetary donation to three orphanages. The campaign for the 25th anniversary is also to thank the nation for supporting our home grown product and there is no better way to do so than to support local orphanages and getting to spend time with these wonderful children.”
“At MUNCHY’S we believe in cultivating and nurturing a generation of employees who is strongly inclined to do more charitable work because by doing so, we encourage them to have a work-life balance and subsequently feel contented and happy for their overall wellbeing. We pride ourselves in cultivating a sustainable and productive workforce who is passionate in work,” added Mr Yong.
Apart from the donation ceremony, MUNCHY’S introduced their hero mascot, Michael Oven, to the children while their employees entertain them with engaging activities which include dancing, origami session and creative cookie workshop.
Goverd Hanlal stated, “We are always grateful whenever we get support from the community and for MUNCHY’S to come back once again with their staff to not only spend time with the children, but to donate biscuits as well and a sizeable donation means the world to our home. On behalf of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taiping, I would like to thank MUNCHY’S for their generosity and continues support over the years.”
Throughout the entire campaign, MUNCHY’S will be visiting a total of 15 homes across the country who will be receiving a contribution of RM 1,000 worth of MUNCHY’S biscuits and on top of that, three homes including Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taiping will receive a donation of RM 10,000. The other two homes include House of Joy and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Batu Pahat.
